Dr. Lopyan received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey Medical School. After completing his residency in general surgery there as well, he went on to complete a fellowship in vascular surgery at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Lopyan is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Vascular Society of New Jersey and the Monmouth Surgical Society. In 2013 he was honored among the Top Doctors by New Jersey Monthly magazine, and in 1999, he was honored at Monmouth Medical Center with the Chief Residents Award for Clinical Teaching.
